A 130ml flute of generic Prosecco runs about 120 calories, or roughly 92 per 100ml.

A sortable table of 19 drinks and cocktails compares Prosecco by sweetness level against Champagne, Cava, still wine, beer, spirits, and popular cocktails.

A 130ml flute of generic Prosecco runs about 120 calories, or roughly 92 per 100ml. Sweetness level moves that figure more than most people expect: a bone-dry Brut Nature and a sweet Demi-Sec can differ by close to 20 calories a glass on residual sugar alone. The table below breaks Prosecco out by sweetness, then lines it up against Champagne, Cava, still wine, beer, spirits, and common cocktails.

Sort and compare.

Sugar vs Kcal Across Sparkling Wines
Each dot is one sparkling wine at its sugar and calorie content per 100ml. Prosecco styles (accent green) run from bone-dry to sweet as sugar climbs left to right; Champagne and Cava (muted gray) share one proxy value near the middle. Hover a dot for the exact figures.

Method

Searched USDA FoodData Central directly first: its search UI is a client-rendered SPA that WebFetch cannot execute, and the public api.nal.usda.gov DEMO_KEY returned HTTP 429 (rate-limited, ~11.7hr retry-after) on the first and only call attempted. Fell back to MyFoodData and NutritionValue.org, which both mirror USDA SR Legacy/Branded/FNDDS records; MyFoodData pages blocked direct WebFetch with HTTP 403 and were instead read through the r.jina.ai reader proxy. Every row traces to a URL actually fetched (listed above); FDC IDs or FNDDS survey codes are recorded where the mirror page displayed one. USDA has no entry specifically named “Champagne” or “Cava” in any database checked, so both rows reuse the generic FNDDS “Wine, sparkling” (93401005) record. The 7 Prosecco sweetness-level rows are computed, not measured: Consorzio DOC residual-sugar bands (fetched from prosecco.wine) were converted to calories via standard Atwater factors (ethanol 6.9 kcal/g, sugar 4 kcal/g) at an assumed 11.5% ABV. Ran 12 distinct web searches plus ~25 WebFetch calls (including 2 r.jina.ai proxy reads for 403’d pages) to source, verify, and cross-check every figure.

Gaps

We couldn’t find a USDA entry specifically for Champagne or Cava (only a generic “Wine, sparkling” FNDDS code); their true composition likely differs from that generic figure, especially at the dry/zero-dosage end. We couldn’t find an FDC ID for the beer or spirits SR Legacy entries on the mirror pages used (only the nutrient values were shown). We couldn’t get through to api.nal.usda.gov directly (DEMO_KEY rate-limited) to confirm any of these against the live USDA database rather than a third-party mirror. The Prosecco sweetness-level rows are formula-derived from Consorzio sugar bands, not lab-measured, and will vary by actual ABV/dosage per producer — no analytical lab dataset broken out by sweetness level was found. Cocktail serving sizes (225ml) are NutritionValue.org’s generic “drink” portion applied uniformly to every FNDDS cocktail code, not a recipe-specific pour size, so real bar servings (especially Piña Colada, typically much larger) will differ.
